GOVERNMENT | COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR

The County Administrator, appointed by and directly responsible to the Board of County Commissioners, supervises the day-to-day operations of the departments under the Board's jurisdiction while performing duties as delegated by the Board and coordinating activities among the departments, elected officials, and outside agencies.

In 2011 Tony Massey was appointed County Administrator for Lee County. He serves as Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for the day to day operations of county government.

Mr. Massey has almost 30 years experience in local government, including serving as the City Manager of Frankfort, Kentucky, the state capital, City Manager of Bristol, Tennessee, Assistant City Manager of Kingsport, Tennessee, and City Manager of Savannah, Tennessee.

He has both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Tennessee. Mr. Massey also has an Associate degree in Risk Management from the Insurance Institute of America, Senor Executive Institute graduate from the University of Virginia, and Leadership Gettysburg graduate.

Mr. Massey is married and has two teenage daughters.
