Departments | Emergency Medical Services


Emergency Medical Services provides the citizens of county and cities of Leesburg and Smithville with Emergency Ambulance Care and Treatment including transportation to hospital facilities in Albany and Americus Ga.

Currently all EMS personnel are licensed Paramedics or state certified Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate. Paramedics operate under Medical Standing Orders in Advanced Life Support procedures including airway, cardiac, trauma and newborn infants. Lee County EMS maintains up to date equipment including New Lee County EMS UnitPhysio Control Lifepak 12 Lead Monitors with data transmissions to Phoebe Putney Cardiac Cath Unit. This procedure can improve the outcome of a heart attack victim. All ambulances currently use the Stryker Power Pro Lift Stretchers to help aid in moving patients. Currently Lee County EMS has 7 ALS Ambulances in it’s fleet with four crews located through out the county. All Paramedics and EMT-I’s must have and maintain current State of Georgia DHR licenses.

This department currently operates three ambulances at the following locations:

  • EMS HQ/Century Station - 934 US HWY 19 South
  • EMS Leesburg Station - 342 Leslie Hwy
  • EMS Redbone Station - 1289 Grave Springs Rd.
  • EMS Palmyra Station - 1169 US HWY 82

All Stations are Staffed with Paramedics 24/7 Currently there are 29 Full Time Employees & 8 Part Time Employees All revenue generated from ambulance fees are billed and collected by a private billing service.
