Appointed Boards | Utility AuthorityThe Lee County Utility Authority Enterprise Fund was created in April 1992 to provide the county with water and sewer services. The Authority consists of a seven member board, a full-time general manager, and six other employees. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Courthouse Annex, 104 Leslie Highway in Leesburg. The Authority is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the county's water and wastewater systems including reading meters, maintaining the system's infrastructure, serving customers, coordinating services with the county's planning and building inspection staff, expanding the water system county-wide, and developing a county-wide sewer system. During August 1996, the Authority entered into a contract with the Lee County Board of Commissioners to have the Utility Billing Department bill, collect, and service all of the Utility Authority's accounts.
